One Bedroom Suite At Palms Place

One Bedroom Suite At Palms Place

Description Connected to the Palms Casino Resort, Palms Place is its more refined younger sister — minus the gaming. It has an all-suite tower that offers fantastic views of the Strip as well as a lounge, spa and pool. The vibe Luxury-leaning hotel with reasonable rates, contemporary, quiet What we love Palms Place is a short drive from the Strip, doesn’t feel congested and whenever you crave gaming or more choices in food, nightlife and entertainment, nearly everything you could want is right next door at the Palms. Not a fan of casinos and smoking? Don’t want to be among the crowds at resorts on the Strip? Then Palms Place is for you. It’s also not bad for folks with kids. The accommodations at Palms Place feel more like urban condos than hotel rooms. You’ll have a fully equipped kitchen (yes, that includes a blender) at your fingertips. In addition to at least two large plasma TVs, there’s a spa tub, waterfall shower and small TV in the bathroom. Good to know Opened in 2008, Palms Place isn’t brand spankin’ new, but it’s in fairly good condition. The rooms feel modern and are filled with great amenities, but since they’ve never been remodeled you may find spots showing wear and tear as well as fixtures and appliances that could use some updating. The lighting is quite dim in the hallways and actually in the rooms too. But that’s just due to décor choices, which include lots of small lamps with funky and interesting shapes.Palms Place doesn’t have its own parking garage. The hotel does offer valet parking at their main entrance. If you prefer to park your car, you can use the west garage at the Palms, but you’ll have to walk through the garage and around the exterior of Palms Place to enter it. There are also some parking spots in front of the hotel, but then you’ll have to stroll up the driveway — and maybe dodge a few vehicles — before you get in. Insider tips Don’t go outside to get to the Palms, especially in summer. Look for the enclosed Skytube with a moving walkway on the second floor of Palms Place. It connects both hotels and is air conditioned. As mentioned, Palms Place is a short but unwalkable distance from the Strip. If you don’t have a car, use the free shuttles provided by the Palms at the west entrance near the sports book, which drops off and picks up at Caesars Palace. The resort’s Drift Spa & Hammam boasts just that — the city’s first hammam. If you’ve never been in a Turkish co-ed steam bath (that’s what a hammam is), then this is your chance. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you. View full description

One Bedroom Suite At Palms Place

Review Summary Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators Pros Big, chic suites with kitchenettes; some have fireplaces and sofa beds Beautiful view of the Strip (on higher floors facing east) Quiet, smoke-free property with no casino (con for some) Attractive outdoor pool with hot tub and bar Large, modern fitness center with lots of equipment Posh spa with coed steam room Upscale American fare at Simon restaurant Rojo Lounge is a stylish spot for cocktails Free Wi-Fi in rooms and public areas Cons Free shuttle to the Strip ends around 9 p.m. Resort fee Room balconies are locked Bottom Line The 47-story, 599-room Palms Place Hotel Spa is one of the best values for a luxury hotel in Vegas. It’s location off the Strip makes for lower prices, but there’s a free shuttle to the Strip (ending in the evening) and the action-packed Palms Casino Resort is right next door, so guests still have easy access to the gambling, parties, and celeb sightings Vegas is known for. The Palms Place is quieter, sans casino, and smoke-free, and the big suites are chic and contemporary; all have kitchenettes. The chic sixth-floor pool is a hub for couples and families. Oyster Awards Most Romantic Hotels in Las Vegas Best Value Hotels in Las Vegas Flights for this trip with Skyscanner.com Oyster Hotel Photos 11 Amenities 13 Pool 14 Restaurants and Bars 67 Studio Suite 40 The Hotel Oyster Hotel Review Scene An all-suite luxury hotel off the Strip One might expect the Palms Place to draw mostly families, because of its off the Strip location, lack of casino, and kitchenette-equipped suites. It does draw some — as well as some business travelers — but most of the guests are couples (particularly younger couples) who are looking to enjoy modern luxury at a lower cost. The hotel is quiet and smoke-free.The decor throughout is sleek and modern. The lobby is adorned with dark wood paneling, back-less metallic sectionals, and metallic accents. Simon restaurant and Rojo Lounge are similarly trendy; Simon has a green metallic bar, oversize globe light fixtures, and decorative rope used as wall separators, while Rojo Lounge has plenty of red accents and more metallic. Location Next to the Palms Casino Resort, and a short drive from the Strip The hotel is located off the Strip, and not within walking distance. However, guests can get their gambling fix right next door at the Palms Hotel and Casino, a short walk through a connecting corridor. The property is next to a busy street in a business area, and there are fast food restaurants and shops within walking distance. It’s a 20-minute drive from the airport and a 10-minute drive to the Strip. A free shuttle service to the Strip is available, but it ends around 9 p.m. Rooms Chic, modern suites with kitchenettes All of the rooms here are big suites (starting at 600 square feet) and the decor is stylish and streamlined: dark wood floors, plush white bedding, big mirrors above the beds enhancing the light and space, and a retro-chic seating area (gray sectional couches and cream chairs with mid-century modern inspiration). Every room has a kitchenette with at least a microwave, sink, fridge, and stovetop (bigger suites have full kitchens). The Serta Platinum pillow-top beds get high marks for comfort. The room types include Studio Suites, One-Bedroom Suites, and Two-Bedroom Suites; the two larger categories also have fireplaces and sofa beds. There are also five penthouses available. The plasma TVs are large (42 inches) and Wi-Fi is free. To avoid the (minimal) noise and get a spectacular view of the Strip, ask for a room above floor 20, facing east. Although each room has a balcony, they are locked and unavailable for use, which can be frustrating to some. Features A chic outdoor pool and several restaurants The sixth-floor pool is the hub of the resort, and many guests can be found lying on the cushioned loungers or having a drink at the poolside bar. It’s chic, if not as huge as some Vegas pools, with an adjacent hot tub, cabanas for rent, mosaic tile columns, and an L shape that wraps around the building; the area can get a little windy at times. The full-service spa with 20 treatment rooms is posh and has a coed hammam. The health and fitness center is big, with wood floors, cardio machines with personal TVs, and strength-training machines; some windows have great views of the mountains beyond. Business travelers will find computers, fax machines, and printers in the business center. The restaurant, Simon (from renowned chef Kerry Simon) is pricey but gourmet, with items such as truffled mac and cheese, fresh sushi, and smoked chicken pizza. Rojo Lounge is a stylish spot for a drink or light fare.
